Friends of KGV Brown’s Field and Carr Lane Woods save Prescot Residents Money
Have you ever wondered what the value you could place on the actions of a Community Group?
In many cases this can be a difficult process as the value of community group actions are often subjective or tackle issues around social isolation which are very difficult to quantify.
However, some community group actions are much easier to put a price on, for example the Friends of KGV Brown’s Field and Carr Lane Woods have recently repainted the Changing Facility and Trip Rail around the entrance to the Park. This work was due to be completed in 2022 and had estimated at a cost of £14,204 when you deduct the cost of the paint which was provided through the Town Council the total saving is a whopping £13,909. To put this into perspective when this figure is divided by the number of Band D equivalent properties in Prescot it represents a saving of £4.70 per household. The groups intentions were originally to give the park a facelift but in doing so they have also provided a considerable saving to everyone in the Town. What a fantastic example of the benefits community groups can provide to their Town, well done to everyone involved.
Pictures of the group undertaking the work can be seen below.
