Christmas Concert Raises £1K+ for Prescot Charities

Over 350 people packed in to Prescot Parish Church last night (Thursday 10 December) for a jubilant evening of Christmas carols and favourite festive songs.

Liverpool Brass Ensemble played such classics as ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’ and ‘Winter Wonderland,’ while the staff and pupil choirs of Evelyn Community Primary School, St Mary & St Paul’s Primary School Choir, Prescot Parish Church Choir and Knowsley Ladies’ Choir entertained with a programme that included ‘Jingle Bells,’ ‘A Calypso Christmas’ and ‘When You Believe.’

Even the congregation joined in, singing heartily along with traditional carols ‘Away in a Manger,’ ‘Silent Night,’ ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing.’

Tasty seasonal treats of wine and mince pies sent the audience away satisfied.

The event, organised by the Prescot Festival on behalf of the Mayor of Prescot’s Charities, raised £1,053.05 for Willowbrook Hospice and Prescot Army Cadets.
