Innovate Volunteering – Breathing new Life back into Bryer Road Community Centre
Innovate Volunteering have been running a SNAP project over the summer holidays which has gone down really well in the local community. Knowsley SNAP funding is supporting established and fledgling local voluntary, faith and community groups across the borough to deliver holiday provision which includes a nutritious meal, with the aim of developing the offer so it’s bigger and better in the future. SNAP will have a beneficial effect on children’s health, physical activity levels, educational progress and social skills as well as helping families who struggle to cover the additional food costs over the six weeks holidays.
In their efforts to promote cross generational community cohesion Innovate have also laid on an afternoon tea for older residents with Swing singers providing entertainment, again this event was really well attended and the group have further intentions to carry this work on throughout the year, if you would like to get involved pop along to Bryer Road Community Centre, email them enquiries@innovatevolunteering.co.uk or Facebook them www.facebook.com/innovate.cic/
